Scotland names their US roster

Bruce Arena will not announce the US's roster till November 7, but Scottish manager Walter Smith has.

Here are the 24 players Smith has called up.

Goalkeepers: Robert Douglas (Leicester), Ryan Esson (Aberdeen), Craig Gordon (Hearts)

Defenders: Graham Alexander (Preston), Russell Anderson (Aberdeen), Gary Caldwell (Hibernian), Steven Caldwell (Sunderland), Christian Dailly (West Ham), Steven Pressley (Hearts), Andy Webster (Hearts), David Weir (Everton)

Midfielders: Scott Brown (Hibernian), Barry Ferguson (Rangers), Darren Fletcher (Manchester United), Paul Hartley (Hearts), Neil McCann (Southampton), Lee McCulloch (Wigan), Ian Murray (Rangers), Nigel Quashie (Southampton), Jamie Smith (Aberdeen)

Forwards: James McFadden (Everton), Shaun Maloney (Celtic), Garry O’Connor (Hibernian), Derek Riordan (Hibernian)

It is a little bit of a surprise that Neil McCann has made the roster but Kevin Thompson has not. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how Scotland play since they will not be at next Summer's big show.
