Freddy Adu and Michael Bradley get national team call up

Thomas Rongen has announced his 16-player roster for the upcoming four-day camp (Oct. 8-12) in Sunrise, Fla. Included on the list are 10 professional players (7 from MLS and 3 from overseas).

This camp will help prepare the team for their final round of qualifying for this winter's CONCACAF World Youth Championships Qualifying Tournament. The team will play their Group A matches in Panama City, Panama in January.

With Adu's improved skill this year with DC United, it is no surprise that he was called into camp, but could this be the last non-senior camp for him?

Michael Bradley is the son of Chivas USA coach Bob Bradley. Michael played well last season for the Metrostars, but decided to move overseas in February when he joined Dutch club SC Heerenveen. Michael was not included on the US World Cup roster, but was called into the US's World Cup training camp in Cary, North Carolina, to help the team train. Bruce Arena was so impressed with what he saw, he used him in two of the three send off matches.

One last thing, you have got to think the LA Galaxy is a little concerned about the call up of Quavas Kirk. He will not miss any games with this camp, but with his club having to win their last two to have any hope of reaching the playoffs, and with him playing a very important role as Cobi Jones sub, they cannot afford for him to get injured.

The team will play the U-23 Haitian side on October 11th.

Here is the full roster:

DEFENDERS (4): Nick Cardenas (San Diego State), Amaechi Igwe (Santa Clara), Nathan Sturgis (L.A. Galaxy), Tim Ward (Columbus Crew)
