Liverpool get their away goals

Liverpool came out looking for an away goal and ended up getting three. Djibril Cisse got it all going in the 25th when he shot a pass from Steven Gerrard past keeper Eugen Hmaruc. Just 6 minutes later Fernando Morientes doubled the lead with a header off a Gerrard free-kick. However, CSKA Sofia's Velizar Dimitrov cut their lead in half right before the half. Fernando Morientes got his second, again from a Gerrard pass, but this time Hmaruc could have stopped it. Oh well. The second leg will be next Tuesday at Anfield. CSKA Sofia 1 - Liverpool 3
