Bruce Arena ready to announce roster for Trinidad & Tobago match

About this time tomorrow (Wednesday), US Men's National Team Manager Bruce Arena will announce the roster for their Aug. 17th World Cup Qualifier against Trinidad & Tobago. Will Arena change much from his Gold Cup roster or is the final team starting to come together?

Here was the list from the Gold Cup:

Goalkeepers (3) –Marcus Hahnemann (Reading FC), Kasey Keller (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Matt Reis (New England Revolution)

Defenders (7) –Steve Cherundolo (Hannover 96), Jimmy Conrad (Kansas City Wizards), Frankie Hejduk (Columbus Crew), Oguchi Onyewu (Standard de Liege), Eddie Pope (Real Salt Lake), Tony Sanneh (Chicago Fire), Greg Vanney (FC Dallas)

Midfielders (9) – Chris Armas (Chicago Fire), DaMarcus Beasley (PSV Eindhoven), Brad Davis (San Jose Earthquakes), Clint Dempsey (New England Revolution), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy), Pablo Mastroeni (Colorado Rapids), John O’Brien (ADO Den Haag), Ben Olsen (D.C. United), Steve Ralston (New England Revolution)

Forwards (4) – Conor Casey (FSV Mainz), Pat Noonan (New England Revolution), Josh Wolff (Kansas City Wizards)

I would figure now that Eddie Johnson is healthy he will be back on the list. I do wonder about goalkeepers. Will Arena pull Hahnemann from his duties in England just to warm the bench? I would assume he would keep Kasey Keller between the bars, but who knows with Arena. He might want to tryout Reis against an easier team to see how he does. I think the odds of this are very low, but one can never be sure.

So the match will be August 17th at 8pm EST. If you live anywhere near East Hartford, Conn., please note that there are still tickets available. It would be a fun way to spend a Wednesday night. For those of us everywhere else in the states, ESPN2 will broadcast the match live.
