Tom Cruise wants to buy the LA Galaxy

Tom Cruise wants to buy the LA Galaxy for $79.6 million. It seems Cruise is a huge soccer fan and wants to be involved with friend David Beckham's new club.

No official word yet however one article quotes a source as saying, "To have Tom's backing would be amazing - there's no way Galaxy bosses would turn down that opportunity."

Is it just me or is the team from LA getting wackier and wackier by the day. Still, this might be the good kind of wacky because it would assure some major news coverage, although it might mainly be tabloid news. Still, there really is no bad publicity, I guess.

If this does happen, that would bring the total number of owners of MLS teams to 11 of 13. It would also mean that no single owner has two clubs in the same conference.
