More on St. Louis MLS expansion
The City of Collinsville, Illinois, is still very interested in becoming home to a St. Louis MLS club as they continue to discuss issues with possible owners.
"Discussions are taking place. Issues are being resolved. Progress is being made," said Collinsville City Administrator Bob Knabel on Tuesday.
It would appear that while all the expansion talk has focused on San Jose, Las Vegas and Portland/Seattle, the St. Louis group has been slowly trying to put together a plan. There has been very little information released, however all signs point to building a stadium near Interstate 255, on Horseshoe Lake Road.
A petition effort has popped up at soccer fields near this location supporting the effort to bring a professional team to the area, but no one knows how many signatures have been obtained.
