US men back at camp, US women getting ready

Yesterday was the first day back for the US men after their slashing of Norway on Sunday. There are now 26 players in camp with Freddy Adu getting sent back to DC United and Steve Ralston continuing to rehabilitate a strained right quadriceps in New England.

The men are preparing for their match against Japan next Friday.

I'm a bit surprised to see Adu sent back to his club. I didn't think he added much in his 10 minutes against Canada, but he still deserved another chance. This should just about kill any idea of him making the 23 heading to Germany.

The US Women are getting ready to start their training camp on the 6th. Head coach Greg Ryan has called 26 players to the camp that will take place in Carson, California. This camp will prep the ladies for the 2006 Algarve Cup that will run March 9-15 in Portugal.

The 26 women roster contains 19 players who played in the recent Four Nations tournament in China. The only player making their debut with the team is forward Natasha Kai (pictured) out of the University of Hawaii.
