US Men going to Mexico on September 9

The US men's Fall road trip added a date today as they will play Mexico in the Estadio Azteca, otherwise known as the only place on earth where Mexico can still best the boys in red, white and blue. This will be the first friendly between the two clubs on Mexican soil since 1984. The US is 0-22-1 in Mexico. ESPN2 and Univision will air the match live at 4pm ET/1pm PT.

With the addition of this date, the US men will play 7 matches in a row on foreign soil. After the bomb out in Germany, many pointed to the lack of games away from the US as a cause for the poor showing. It is nice to know that US Soccer has listened to these concerns and is doing something about it.

If there is one bit of bad news it is that MLS has a full slate of matches that weekend. With a number of matches in Europe in the fall, Bob Bradley might not call on many yanks abroad for this outing, so many MLS clubs will probably take a roster hit.

One last bit, if Bradley wants to cement himself as the most amazing coach ever, a win, even in a 'friendly,' in Mexico is the way to do it.

Here is the US men's schedule
Aug 22 - Sweden - 2:30pm ET - FSC/Galavision
Sept 9 - Mexico - 4pm ET - ESPN2/Univision
Oct 14 - Catalonia (Nou Camp, Barcelona, Spain) - ? - FSC/Galavision
Oct 17 - Switzerland - 2:30pm ET - FSC/Galavision
