LA Galaxy ready to take on South Korea

In just a few hours the LA Galaxy will take to the pitch for their first exhibition game of the 2006 season. However, this game will not be an easy walk through the park as the South Korean national team is coming to town.

The Galaxy have only been in camp for two-weeks and they will be without six starters thanks to injury or US national duty, so they have their work cut out for them. Also, just like the US squad, a lot of the Koreans on the field are on the bubble and hoping to empress their coach Dick Advocaat.

It will be interesting to see what formation Advocaat decides to use during this game as he has stated that he will decide on a back-four defense or a traditional back-three formation for Germany after this match.

It is a shame that this match will not be on Fox Soccer Channel as it should be very interesting to watch. It will be really interesting to see how LA does on defense as Tyrone Marshall will be the only starting defender, including the keeper, from last year to suit up. If nothing else, this should give us a little bit of an idea of the depth in their squad.

I don't see LA having any chance of winning this, but if they keep it close and get a goal or two, that will say a lot about the green and gold.
