2007 MLS All-Stars full list

Last week we got the MLS First XI as voted on my fans, media, coaches and players. Today we got the other seven members of the MLS All-Star team as coach Steve Nicol and MLS Commissioner Don Garber announced their picks.

Steve Nicol went with Brian Ching (Houston Dynamo), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy), Ronnie O'Brien (Toronto FC), Kevin Hartman (Kansas City Wizards) and Pablo Mastroeni (Colorado Rapids). O'Brien has been a key part of TFC's squad this year while Donovan was the only player doing anything for LA for most of their first six matches. Hartman hasn't had a bad year, but I think Onstad (Houston), Sala (Dallas) or Guzan (Chivas) would have been better picks. Ching has been a bit silent in MLS play so far but has shown some improvement since returning from the Gold Cup. Mastroeni is a solid back, but again has not really stood out this year. Still, he is the only player from the host city to make the steam.

Garber went a different way with his picks as he rewarded two US soccer legends with one final trip to the All-Star game as he named Eddie Pope (Real Salt Lake) and Cobi Jones (LA Galaxy) to the roster. Jones had shown some real class play at times this year while Pope is still a workhorse. There are better players in the league in their position, but I think they have more then earned their spots over the years. Actually I'm just thankful Garber didn't name Beckham.

Here is the full MLS roster:
Goalkeeper: Matt Reis (New England Revolution), Kevin Hartman (Kansas City Wizards)
Defenders: Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA), Jimmy Conrad (Kansas City Wizards), Michael Parkhurst (New England Revolution), Pablo Mastroeni (Colorado Rapids), Eddie Pope (Real Salt Lake)
Midfielders: Ricardo Clark (Houston Dynamo), Dwayne De Rosario (Houston Dynamo), Christian Gomez (D.C. United), Shalrie Joseph (New England Revolution), Juan Toja (FC Dallas), Ronnie O'Brien (Toronto FC)
Forwards: Juan Pablo Angel (Red Bull New York), Eddie Johnson (Kansas City Wizards), Cobi Jones (LA Galaxy), Brian Ching (Houston Dynamo), Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy)
