US U-20 Men's roster named for 2006 Milk Cup

US Under-20 Men’s National Team head coach Thomas Rongen has named his roster for the 2006 Milk Cup taking place in Northern Ireland starting next week.

There are eight professional players on the roster along with six of them coming from the MLS while one each comes from the English and German first divisions.

The US's first match is next Monday against Wales. They play Denmark on August 2nd and finish the tournament with a placement match on Friday, August 4th. The other teams playing in the Elite portion of the Milk Cup are Northern Ireland, Paraguay and Turkey.

Last year, the U-18 men won the N. Ireland Milk Cup.

DEFENDERS (5): Tony Beltran (UCLA), Amaechi Igwe (Santa Clara), Ofori Sarkodie (Indiana), Julian Valentin (Wake Forest), Blake Wagner (FC Dallas)

MIDFIELDERS (7): Nikolas Besagno (Real Salt Lake), Carlos Borja (Chivas USA), Rodrigo Lopez (Chivas USA), Dax McCarty (FC Dallas), Brad Ring (Indiana), Robbie Rogers (University of Maryland), Jonathan Villanueva (University of Virginia);

FORWARDS (4): Josmer Altidore (N.Y. Red Bulls), Johann Smith (Bolton FC), Preston Zimmerman (Hamburg SV), Sal Zizzo (UCLA)

There are two other portions of the Milk Cup. The Premier portion is U-17 club sides and the Junior portion is U-15 club sides.
